The Fountain at the Gwanghwamun Plaza

The construction for the Gwanghwamun Plaza is nearing completion

As part of the revamp, a fountain will be installed in front and back of the General Lee (이순신 장군) statue.

Behind the construction barricade, the construction crew are putting final touches, testing the fountain.

REST ASSURED that the water shooting up behind the barricades are not accidents!! a press release had to be released to assure the citizens that all is right with the construction.

Anyway, if you happened to be near the General Lee statue at Gwangwhamun (광화문) at 8 pm, you can see the trial-test of the new fountain for the rest of the month, until the Plaza finally opens later this month (opening date is not yet set.)

i have to dig up the information from the past, for the cell phone usage, but this little app is pretty nifty, especially if you have wifi on your phone (not so much in Korea) or you are near a wifi hotspot.
